Badia)advocats advises several public and local radio and television broadcasters in Catalonia on the regularisation and organisation of their relationships with collective intellectual property rights management organisations. We work both on preventive phases and, when necessary, on defence in courts against filed claims.

We are currently in a context of a profound review of the tariff system following the resolutions of the First Section of the Intellectual Property Commission, which represent a turning point requiring operators to adapt to a new framework of relationships. Badia)advocats always adapts to changes and new legal frameworks, and therefore we have focused on regularising pre-existing situations and finding viable legal solutions for each broadcaster. This hasn’t been the only function of our team, as we have also contributed to establishing the foundations of an orderly and predictable future relationship with management organisations.
It’s essential to combine organisational work with the defence of our clients’ interests in courts. The objective is to guarantee a reasonable balance between the protection of intellectual property rights and the viability of local public communication services.
